UPP says Browne’s claim of collusion between Party and Teachers’ Union is another lie
It is unfortunate that Prime Minister Gaston Browne would use parliamentary immunity to lie to the Honourable House and to the Nation about the genesis of the industrial action recently taken by the Antigua & Barbuda Union of Teachers.
The United Progressive Party categorically denies the prime minister’s spurious claim – made in the Lower House today, May 15 – that senior members of the Party colluded with the Union’s leadership to prolong the teachers’ sit-in. Further, we challenge him to produce any evidence to support this falsehood.

We long for the day when Prime Minister Browne will be mature enough to accept responsibility for his Administration’s actions and – in this case – inaction and stop ascribing blame for its failures to the UPP.
Had the Browne Administration not failed to honour its commitment to the teachers in a timely manner, there would have been no need for the Union to resort to the recent action. The sit-in was the consequence of the bad faith shown by both Finance Minister Browne and Education Minister Daryll Matthew, and the buck stops with them and them only.
This trend in which PM Browne fails government workers and then accuses them of politicizing their legitimate issues is not only childish but extremely tiring.
Unions exist to advocate for and defend their members – as the prime minister should know, as he is intent on creating such an organization, although for the sole purpose of control.
If he were to do right by the unions, their membership, and the public he is supposed to serve, such drastic industrial action by civil servants would never become necessary.

Don’t you see the playbook Pringle?
It’s the same playbook the Republican party played to get Donald Trump in office in 2016.
Bumbard the media with misinformation and propaganda and see which one sticks.
All of them won’t get through, but one or two will, and that’s what they are counting on.
It’s a political maneuver that has been played before. The mistake the Democrats made, was that they were reacting to everything, and that played straight into the hands of Donald Trump.
Distract you enough to where you are not looking at the real stories and issues that are out there, and it’s that Antigua is under tremendous strain under this administration. From getting teargas for there rights, to being robbed of there tax money for their defense in the Alpha Nero case that’s before the courts.
You guys just relax and let the public continue to challenge this lying Administration, because trust me, we see their lies and corruption.
But the PM said nobody’s listening to all you UPP dunce, degenerate, bafoons wow! Take it easy, I guess he’s eating his words because teachers union and teachers are listening. Look at the influence he’s claiming that you guys have now over the union, over the Russian lady. Well done UPP ……WE LISTENING!!
Pringle has been fed corn by Gaston, he directs Pringle narrative as emotional politics and romanticizing of Gaston with love poetry questions.
Pringle don’t seem to want to develop the capacity to understand issues and presentation or rebuttals, Gaston laughs when Pringle speaks.
There must be collusion given the similar dunce rhetoric emanating from both camps, given their still can’t-believe-it euphoria of succeeding in getting their low-level masses to come out swinging and gnashing their teeth in defense of a handful of their “upper class” titled members and then their social chitchat about lazing around doing nothing and getting fat.
