𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 – 𝗨𝗣𝗣 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀:

The prefab houses that were paid for from the Antigua and Barbuda Treasury at a cost of US $5,000,000 to provide temporary housing for the residents of Booby Alley, are now dumped on empty land on lower Fort Road. SHAMEFUL!!

Meanwhile the Booby Alley residents remain frustrated and homeless, and many have been evicted from the temporary rental properties for which the Gaston Browne government failed to pay the rent to the landlords.

WICKEDNESS and HEARTLESSNESS! WASTING TAX PAYERS’ DOLLARS!!

  1. This is a scandalous waste of taxpayers money. I was pleased that my taxes was going towards this project for the homeless and destitute.

To see the dumping of these building materials is discreditable and dishonourable.

Was anyone doing due diligence or their jobs?

Again, promises made and promises not kept by this ABLP government.

Seems like every other day, some sort of scandalous behaviour is being traced back to them.

WE NEED AN ENQUIRY, AND WE NEED IT NOW!

    • BTW, can you imagine if these were pipes belonging to the APUA? Gaston would have sacked everybody involved in the dumping.

Remind me again, regarding this housing material that’s been discarded, and who is the CURRENT Minister for Housing?

      #isn’tiimariabrownewillsheloseherjobaswell?

  2. Why is he repeating himself? If they are prefab homes, can’t they still be assembled? Or is it that the people already have accommodations. Aren’t they simply being stored there? Let’s hope they can still be used.

    • The pictures speak volume. Some definitely cannot be reused judging from the conditions of some if the materials and if they continue to be exposed to the elements, they may just lose their shape.

    • @Dave Ray…”if and only if,” #bull_bud was a ghost/Jumbee, it would haunt many of those who supports politicians, regardless, of what they do and be a rod of correction.
Giving you the benefit, of the doubt, let’s say that, the photos being shown does not tell the whole story, and these panels are left over, after construction of the houses are completed, and these photos shown no longer needed, is this how #trash is stored on any site? ‘Cause, they show a trash pile to me.
The #trash which comes out of #political_lackies mouth, regardless, of what their political pied pipers do are not even recyclable, in the #Next_Level.

      • @Ras Smood, I am so in love with what you said. The “haunting”.

Also, if they were left overs, they should have been sold at public auction or simply given away, if not being used by the government.

However, be careful, some people on here will attack for their party, even when wrong. Be careful of your family’s attack for speaking up and pushing for better, progressive, innovation, and advancements.

        • 😆🤣😆😂@my way of helping…
          A wah a guarne?!
I, thank you for the thoughts, and the #WARNINGS, which you sent.

I laughed, because not only is laughter‘food for the soul,’ I have being heeding these same #WARNINGS, since, at a very early stage of living amongst the Spirits/Jumbees, of my ancestors.

Fear is a state of mind, not necessarily, a state of being.
Once, you come to this #REALISATION, one of the tenets, of Buddhism, as you travel many roads to #ENLIGHTENMENT, fear become water on a ducks back or on the 🪷 Lotus, a symbol of Buddhism.{(de same dutty watah, dat buss U, grow U, Nuture U, cyan touch u) It’s a #ghetto_parable}.

Another realisation is, #Bloodline is not always a #safety_line, and through the bastardisation and indoctrinations, of our culture, I’d prefer to hitch a ride on a shark’s tail to come ashore, knowing that, the Essence of Nature’s Ether will guide and protect me, as it reasons with the shark on my behalf.

Now, speaking of, the Essence of Nature’s Ether, I dream(the porting of my Spirit from realm to realm, where #Time and #Space are irrelevant, since, they’re one and the same, as their energy’s collide at any crossroad, the place of transformation and transitioning.

          Here’s one such dream/vision.
At the age of 11years(Gregorian time, not Spitit time), and immediately after, the physical death of one of my grandfathers – Papa Alnut, we were riding from Freetown to St. John’s. He was driving a horse and cart. I was sitting up front with him.
All of a sudden, as we crossed American and Factory Roads❌☠️✝️🏥❎, I heard laughter and idle chatter coming from the back of the cart/wagon, I got scared, fear sat in, the hair on my entire body stood up as I turned around to see who were in the cart/wagon because, although we stopped several times, along the way, we never picked up anyone.
As sudden as the laughter, and idle chatter began, it stopped and in unison, the crowd of people sitting in the cart/wagon said, “anytime, U want r we, fu any reason, fu anyting, jus call r we. U kno, wey fu goh.”
Translation: “Anytime, you need us, for any reason, for anything, just call us. You know where to find us.”

Fear, scared etc, gotta have more to them, than their regular meaning. As in #Scared_2_Death!🤣🤣😆🤣shitless, of course, and 🤣🤣🤣even, more so, when I turned, to look at Papa Alnut, ‘cause, I noticed that he wasn’t driving the wagon, the horses were steady galloping along, and by the time I got through , turning my head back and forth, the horses had stopped, next to the Country pond, at the east bus station. They had stopped for the water.
Papa Alnut was no where around, neither was the crowd which was sitting, in the back.

Needless to say, I jumped out of my sleep, and of course, for me the usual follows. I’ll recall bits and pieces of the dream, I’ll store them in memory, and every once in a while, at some #Time and #Space, I’ll recall, and combine them, to make Sense, makes #Sense.

Again, thanks for the warning, there’s “No Fear Here!”
I’m well guarded, and protected by the ancestral energy’s of, the Essence of Nature’s Ether.

Keep faith handy! I know, that you know this. You understand, your sense of purpose and you’re getting your, #sense_of_being together.
Letting hurt, be materialized into fear, can become stagnating, and stagnation at times like the waters of a pond, which produces, the #Lotus🪷🪷Flower, as the seed germinates, the plant grows, the Essence of Nature’s Ether takes control taking that plant through its motions/emotions, yet still that stagnant water is powerless to destroy it. So, they both have mutual understanding, on what their strengths and weaknesses are.

HUEmans to some degree shares similar vibes, in the Essence of Nature’s Ether.

Politics, politicians and their hench folks don’t scare me. They’re more scared of me, than I am of them. The worst they can do, is kill this physical body. The Spirit shall always thrive!

Dem no haffu light #Flamboo, fu luk fu #Jumbee_Crab nar….

    • Lol….wait is everything This government does u support???? What the heck do they feed people like u? We have no real men left

    • Please stop abusive your intellect for party politics. I have seen multiple pieces of those materials away from the location where they are dumped. These are done with. They are deformed and otherwise damaged. Construction again and we all know by now which is the easiest way to THIEF money according to the leader.

    • shut up . you need to stay out of Antigua business. you don’t live here . idiots like you could t survive here. you constantly running your mouth on issues that dont impact or concern you.

  3. So is it possible to utilise the prefab structures for some other purpose or to use the structures to provide temporary homes for the frustrated persons within the community? Just asking.

  4. The pictures speak volume. Some definitely cannot be reused judging from the conditions of some if the materials and if they continue to be exposed to the elements, they may just lose their shape.

  5. Mr Ray
I think that you should be quiet on this issue. From your utterance it is clear that you don’t know a damn thing about this building system. The Einstein that order them was cautioned to get more details regarding the system and the design, but as usual this brilliant former minister who knows everything went ahead anyway. I wonder who bingo on this one. Once again the taxpayers got the finger! SHAME SHAME SHAME !!!

  6. Is nothing wrong with it. When the stinkers talk, many fumes coming out their mouth. To many can broken their trousers and slashing their chests. Politics is the art of deceive sheep’s…not matter gow well square are their heads after too many years in the square head facility.

Brixtonian..you are one of the people I feel admiration but, sometimes your comments sound as a SNAKE (sorry) deviant aspiring to the ripoff carnage.

  7. Is some comments are not proper write, apologize in advance and thanks to the second retard AI MANIPULATE FROM PSICOS

  8. These cannot be used again, because they are exposed to the elements and are therefore mold infested and a danger to people’s health,so no this is a total lost for who is asking.
Building codes will not allowed for the use of these exposed materials.

  9. What madness is this. I wonder who will get fired for this? Talk about incompetence. Remind me of the ebook scandal. This government is reckless and wasteful. Time for Gaston and his gang to go!

  10. For anyone who cares about the community and also wants to make a decent living… there is currently a huge business Opportunity in Antigua building low and mid income rentals and housing for sale all over Antigua. If you follow the local Facebook House Rental Hunting groups, you will see how many people have been searching for ages for affordable rentals. Whenever one pops up, it normally gets taken within hours, leaving everyone else disappointed. Sometimes people want to move to a different area that is more convenient for where they need to be each day or week but are left to struggle to get by where they are. Sometimes young people need to move as they grow up and get a job further away. Sometimes families with small children need more bedrooms at an affordable price, but there are few homes designed to accommodate families e.g. unfurnished, low price, with yard space and safety fencing, detached or town/row houses. Singles also need affordable safe accomodation options e.g. in town houses or apartments since living alone is not that safe these days. Singles also need low rental prices so they can afford to save up a deposit to buy a house of their own someday. Most places on the market are designed to make a lot of money from expats, international students or “working professionals” etc. so they are furnished, include unnecessary expensive design elements and other features that locals don’t need that drive up the price. The only necessary features for locals are a cistern and burglar bars. A lot of those expensive places sit empty for months even years. Meanwhile locals can’t find anything within their price range. Instead of waiting on the government to do everything, I invite caring, business-minded locals to enter the housing market, start a community-minded housing business and offer affordable rentals etc. to locals. You will still make a profit without the high prices that don’t match local salaries.

  11. The video provides partial documentation and informs the public from a political angle.
Is it misleading or mischievous? I would say no Mr. Thomas is not.
He is doing the job of the failed local media, who I hope further investigates and bring a more informed approach and complete reporting on the situation.
The panels are generally used for temporary housing projects after a hurricane or storm or as arm forces panelized housing.
The video shows a failure to protect the panels from the weather. If the ends of the panels are open to moisture the insulation grows moldy and becomes cancerous.
At a minimum this shows neglect if not incompetence.
I await the intrepid journalist who does a deep dive into the issue, to let us know what went wrong and why it went wrong.
That is what happens in civilized societies, enabling the public to get a full understanding rather than politicizing the issue.
I’m not faulting Mr. Thomas for bringing this to the public’s attention. Antigua and Barbuda would be a better place if we had more politically motivated individuals with a sense of community wellbeing as is Mr. Thomas.
The media needs to do their job.

  12. @ Business Opportunity
What you have written is a crock of shit.
You have no clue what you are writing about. Pencil out the numbers.

Take it from a prize winning affordable home developer.

  14. Brown live in a big mansion. He don’t give a dam his pocket is full to hell with the foolish Antiguan he is saying they will always vote for me wake up you dum antiguan

  15. @Dave Ray,
Quite often when you comment you invoke a scripture or religious related statements. I would expect hat you are a religious man who goes to church. In most religion the preachers repeats themselves for both emphasis and to drive home a point.
Mr. Thomas is driving home the point of Government waste, incompetence and neglect. Yes some of these panels could be stored for later use. I suspect not a lot of them. They have sat out in the cycle of rain and sun. They have become not only an eyesore but a public hazard.
Mr. Thomas emphasized waste. He was driving home the point of waste and neglect. At this time the waste is history; but the neglect continues.
Lets see if the Government sees fit to salvage any of the panels by conducting moisture test and mold test. Lets see where and how they discard of these panels which are now hazardous waste.
Dr. Ray, these are the questions that should be raised by a learned man like you.

  16. Why when something goes wrong people immediately blame Gaston and one side of the government, they (all government offcials involved) invested money and a plan for the situation. If the government is not doing their job, i.e setting up plans and investments for the betterment of the country, then sure we can blame them but you can’t blame government for this if someone else is supposed to oversee what is being done before, during, and after the process.
People blame the government for the water issue when they have invested to supply more water but it’s still bad for some due to poor distribution and maintenance, don’t try and put all the responsibility on the government when who supposed to manage the situation is supposed to hold some type of accountability.

      • I don’t know what that have to do with what I just stated. Why not comment on what I said instead of asking that question😂 but just kool
