The health department needs to close down those two hotels. They have nasty sewage manholes all over the place. The one down Five Islands dump sewage in the Lagoon.
The room are full of mold, a kitchen worker told me that she don’t know how people eat at that place.
The have Spanish people managing/ nasty Hispanic.
At Chic block off the northern portion of the beach with the bungalows. So Antiguas are now deprived from their own property.
Chic has only one entrance , a modern facility with no emergency exit.
They import workers mostly from Mexico, Dominican Republic ( now rounding up our Haitians brothers and sisters we need to do likewise). St. Lucian’s – paying transportation and housing for them . I am talking about front office workers, maids , cleaning, maintenance workers and even the gardening contractor.
Anyhow they are trying to imitate Sandals but with their poor health standards and quality, fast management turnover they must go bankrupt.
Heard they are going to Barbados but the government there will not allow the nonsense that they are allowed here .
What a disgrace!! what could have gone so wrong that this so call immigration officer ( hear who is ) immigration officer not a police man I home his—-get thrown behind bars and throw away the keys
We are living in the wild wild west 🤔
How do we determine if a person is mentally and emotionally stable enough to carry a licensed firearm? The simply answer is that there’s no magic way to determine whether someone is a risk until they have shown themselves to be. And after they have shown themselves to be dangerous, it is incumbent upon the authorities to take the necessary steps to relieve them permanently of their licensed firearm. A firearm in the hands of the wrong person is extremely dangerous.
@just saying, seems that you are very surprised he is an Antiguan and not a Jamaican

Ah, the curious case of the funeral-firing Immigration officer—a sterling example of our society’s propensity to mix the sacred and the absurd. This bizarre incident serves as a timely reminder that, given the right (or rather, wrong) circumstances, even the most solemn of occasions can be transformed into a spectacle of the highest order.
Ty you’re a real rass for this dumb move! you don’t have no friggin sense?
fire him and lock his dumb ass up
I know him since school days at SJA and I can tell you he is very intelligent and very cool majority of the time. Seen him pissed off once or twice and he snapped just like the situation in this article he had to be restrained by classmates….
Fact is there are alot of mentally unstable individuals armed with government issued weapons…Yes unfortunately there are alot of illegal weapons on the streets menacing society but in the hands of those we trust to keep us safe is very worrying…I believe Mr. Thomas had a break down at the funeral I am sorry for his loss but what he did was reckless and he put everyone close by in danger….
This bizarre madness is confirmation that the country is on the verge of collapse.
The freedom Antiguans once enjoyed is rapidly becoming compromised, we are living in perpetual fear.
I have for sometime considered selling my property and moved abroad as the Antigua I loved has become an unsafe place in paradise. I am grateful I have dual nationality, but deeply worried for those who has no option but to remain.
Discharging a firearm in public is a criminal offence. I am waiting to see how long the police will wait before an arrest is made. I am at a loss for words hearing that the firearm was confiscated and the police are continuing investigations. Are they waiting instructions on their next course of action? I am also waiting to see in which pasture this immigration officer will be transferred to when she is criminally convicted and can no longer be a part of the nation’s security forces. Let us not forget that a police officer us presently out on bail for similar offences..
Seems that there’s no appraisal done of the cognitive aptitude for firearm bearers in Antigua, weather it’s for law enforcement officers or, in the case of the common security guards, who are most often than not; foreigners. I note that the whole damn arrangement is in needs of a septic cleansing, to provide assurance of competent security for the public at large. There is far too much damn many foreign rats guarding the state of our indigenous cheese; bereft of indigenous recruitment with patriotic intent to serve and protect our nationalistic pride; with care, custody and control. Thus the incentive for the enhancements of the pay package for retention with, better facilities and training while weeding out the foreign influence, would argue well for the meaningful Antiguans and Barbudans to answer to the noble cause; to serve and protect. A mussa foreign jumbee de poor immigration officer me a shoot pan, after de fact dem done ya. A coo dey! A coo ya!
