  1. So very sad. This pulls at my heart probably because I have a toddler and a cistern (just talked to him re same issue). Really hoped the news yesterday (tragedy averted) was/ remained true. Condolences to the family and know you are in my prayers.

  2. Absolutely shocking. Condolences to the family. All homes with cistern and young ones should ensure that the cistern is always closed.

  3. My condolences to the family god is in control this little angel has been called home by the almighty.

  4. Tragic, tragic, tragic, it is indeed tragic.I read the story yesterday and prayed the toddler would survive. Condolences to the family members, gone too soon. Keep the Faith.

  5. My heart breaks for this family. My condolences to them all.
Safety is so important everyone. Keep cisterns, drums and other such holding items securely covered.

  6. @ Just Saying…the cistern is for the families personal use whether there’s public water or not. Its a tragedy that could have been avoided if they simply had the cistern covered and invested in a pump. A three year old knows nothing of the dangers around the house, so it’s the adults responsibility to keep their home safe and child proof. This a good time for some public service announcements about child safety and child proofing ones home. It should not take a tragedy to remind adults of their responsibility to protect their children.

  7. Ohhh my condolences to the family. I feel this one because I too have a toddler. They have a tendency to explore unknowingly of danger. We were hoping he’d survive. Prayers for the family especially his mum, comfort.
