REAL NEWS – An investigation has been launched into a scheme through which the pensions of deceased persons were being collected by an unknown man.
The matter was reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) by an attorney for the Social Security Scheme.
According to reports, the Police were advised that an unknown male has been collecting old-age benefits for persons who are known to be dead.
The offence reportedly has been taking place for about two years – between January 31, 2021 and July 14, 2023.
A source says the Scheme has been experiencing challenges in paying its beneficiaries, and condemns those persons who are adding to the problem by collecting funds to which they are not entitled.

Every six months you need to provide a life certificate if you want to continue to collect your pension.
IT IS EVERY 3 MONTHS THE LIFE CERTIFICATE HAS TO BE SENT TO ANTIGUA.I KNOW SOMEONE WHO GETS SS FROM ANTIGUA AND THEY HAVE TO GET THAT LIFE CERTIFICATE NOTARIZED EVERY 3 MONTHS.SO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR INFO AND COME AGAIN.
When is this type of irresponsible reporting going to stop? Journalism standard should mean something. We just had the conference of the Media Practitioners here on the Island and they gave many awards to really respectable journalists. This media house is making the industry look like garbage. They are bringing down the profession with the publishing of un-verified so-called news articles from another so-called media house called Real News. very sad.

All i have to say ..its an inside job… many of the workers in that institution is crooked, and its so easy for them to manipulate the system as there is no real structure… i can say more ..but that will open another can of worms
The court and social security s relationship should be of such that the database of the deceased is privy to both organizations IN REAL TIME.
Listen…for all the bullcrap they’re putting my relatives through just to sign on for pension…if this article is true and not clickbait…this has to an inside job. The employees down there are open to take bribes, then they disappear and you get nothing! So it won’t surprise me if, within that stinking sewer pond, one of them rats is knowingly collecting MORE dead people $$$ than the other slimballs, and somebody got upset.

If every 6 months person are required to do life certificates then ITS WHO HAVE TO APPROVE / VERIFY those said life certificates ITS PERSONS WHO WORKING FOR SOCIAL SECURITY
ITS JUS LIKE PERSONS WORKING IN BANKS WHO SEE STOP SEEING CERTAIN PPL DEPOSITING MONEY AND STEAL THE ENTIRE SAVINGS
