Leader of the Opposition Antigua and Barbuda

On behalf of The United Progressive Party, its Members of Parliament, Caretakers, Executive Members and Units, I extend deepest condolences to the family of Ms. Delano Christopher, former Commissioner of Police.

Though this message may not fully diminish the pain her relatives are feeling at this time, I sincerely hope they can take solace in knowing that Ms. Christopher’s unwavering service to the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda (RPFAB) and the Nation exceeded all measures of selflessness and dedication – qualities rewarded by her promotion to the position of Commissioner and the conferral of the Queen’s Police Medal (QPM).

We not only acknowledge her commitment to upholding and enforcing the law but we salute her for being the embodiment of Antigua and Barbuda’s spirit of service to a cause greater than ourselves. This country acknowledges her personal sacrifices and commitment to making our communities safer and peaceful.

Further, Ms. Christopher is also an example to the girls and women who aspire to crack the glass ceiling in male-dominated fields and make a positive impact on society.

For these achievements, we will continue to honour her memory.

The United Progressive Party offers its heartfelt sympathy and asks that God’s hands of blessing and compassion console her entire family circle.

In rest, may she find that peace we all seek.
