Frantz Henry and Julenda Smith, both of Jennings, were remanded to prison today for allegedly attempting to murder Nana Chapman.
The charge stems from an incident that occurred in the Parish of St. Mary on September 12, 2020.
Smith, who was a passenger in Henry’s vehicle was allegedly involved in an altercation with Chapman.
Investigators alleged Henry drove off at a high speed while Chapman’s body was partially in the vehicle.
The defendants could not be granted bail when they made their first appearance before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel-Edwards since Magistrates do not have the jurisdiction to offer bail in cases of Attempted Murder.
However, the defendants still have the option of applying for bail in the High Court.
They are being represented by Attorney Lawrence Daniel and are set to return to the Magistrates Court in January 2021.
