Police were searching for a gunman who shot and killed two young men here on Tuesday night bringing the murder toll so far this year to 26. Last year 22 people were murdered in Barbados.
Police said that Renaldo Gittens, 23, and Reco Burgess, whose age was not disclosed, were shot near an abandoned building in Marley Vale on the southeastern coast of the island.
According to the authorities, an unknown gunman approached the two men and fired several shots hitting them, killing them at the scene.
So far this month, five people have been murdered in Barbados.
