TWO ARRESTED FOR FIREARM AND AMMUNITION
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Monday, April 20, 2026
The police have arrested two males, ages 25 and 26, from Willikies and Pares Village respectively, in connection with the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, police officers attached to the Willikies Police Station were on mobile patrol duty in the district when they observed a blue Honda Fit motor car travelling along the Willikies Main Road without a front number plate.
The vehicle was intercepted, and a search was conducted in the presence of both occupants, and one 9mm pistol with seven (7) matching rounds of ammunition were discovered inside the vehicle.
The firearm and ammunition were seized and both men were arrested and taken into custody. Investigations remain ongoing.

It’s one thing to have an illegal firearm in your house, but to drive around with it tell me you are ready for combat. So anytime anywhere you find yourself in trouble you can pull your gun and shoot.
Persons who are caught with guns on their possession or in their car should get a higher and stiffer sentence then those caught with firearms in their house. You can argue that the firearm was for protection when and if someone breaks in to your house.
