Two men arrested after early morning police raid remanded to HM Prison

Two of the persons arrested in the October 16 police early morning raid in Liberta…have been remanded to HM Prison after their case was ad- journed until January 22, 2025.

Shiloh Martin and Wayne Knowles, both in their 20’s, appeared in the District B of the Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning to answer charges related to the possession of bulletproof vests, firearms, and ammunition.

The police charged the pair with the unlawful possession of four bullet-proof vests, 10 .40 rounds of ammunition, 10 9mm rounds of ammunition, 2 9mm magazines, 1 Taurus .40 pistol and 1 Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol.

Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel ordered the pair to be held on remand until next year when the case will resume.

In the event that they will seek to get bail, the men will have to appeal to a higher court as this matter is outside the scope of the magistrate’s jurisdiction to grant.

In the early morning of October

16, teams from the police department carried out a raid on a property at Table Hill Gordon in Liberta during which the bulletproof vests, firearms and ammunition were confiscated. Twelve persons were taken into cus- tody during the raid. A number of mi- nors were included in the police dragnet. (POINTE EXPRESS)

  1. A group of twelve young people living together, eldest early twenties along with two minors. Questions are they related? Who’s house, how could they afford it and how long have they reside there? Looking at the confiscated items, nothing good was happening behind that door.
