CNN-President-elect Donald Trump responded to his hush money sentencing in a post on Truth Social, railing against Democrats and promising to appeal.
“The Radical Democrats have lost another pathetic, unAmerican Witch Hunt,” he said in the post.
Trump argued “there was never a case.”
“The real Jury, the American People, have spoken, by Re-Electing me with an overwhelming MANDATE in one of the most consequential Elections in History. As the American People have seen, this ‘case’ had no crime, no damages, no proof, no facts, no Law, only a highly conflicted Judge, a star witness who is a disbarred, disgraced, serial perjurer, and criminal Election Interference,” Trump said.
“Today’s event was a despicable charade, and now that it is over, we will appeal this Hoax, which has no merit, and restore the trust of Americans in our once great System of Justice,” he continued.
During the sentencing: Judge Juan Merchan said the legal protections of the presidency “do not reduce the seriousness of the crime or justify its commission in any way,” adding that “one power they do not provide is the power to erase a jury verdict.”

The audio recording will provide an opportunity to hear Donald Trump speaking as he was sentenced for his hush money conviction, meaning he will enter the presidency as a felon, but received no penalties.

President-elect Donald Trump doesn’t have the same conditions as other convicted felons who have probationary periods, but instead has to maintain his role as president, CNN anchor Laura Coates said.
“Donald Trump right now is in a league of his own for the reasons that my colleagues have described. But an unconditional release, normally, if somebody is convicted of a crime and does not have a jail sentence imposed, a probationary period comes in,” Coates said.
Coates described responsibilities including checking in with a probation officer, engaging with drug testing and community service “in order to make sure that they don’t have the ability to be actually brought into a jail.”
“Donald Trump doesn’t have any of those conditions. The condition he now has is to maintain his role as the commander in chief and president of the United States,” Coates said.
Trump will take office on January 20.

I firmly believe that the evil people of the world flourish. Look around and tell me it is not so.
Maybe that is God’s way of testing the goodness in us, but after a while you have to wonder why you are trying to live a good, truthful, Christian and upright life and all the no goods, wicked scampish and corrupt people living well.
Trump is the worse scum there ever was, and he has all these highly educated and skilled people supporting him and doing everything to please him. Even the most Christlike Christians too who see no wrong in him.
The worst of the worst are the Supreme Court justices (most of them) who are as corrupt as him and pass legislation to make sure he stays in power.
If those are corrupt then what is to become of the world. They are supposed to see that justice is fair and equitable.
Sometime you wonder how these people who do wrong for Trump sleep at night. How they look their children and grandchildren in the eye. If they care what history would say about them when they are old and grey or on their death bed.
Trump is an interesting character. Clearly he has apparently done both good and bad things in his life. According to theology God cares more about who we become by the end of our lives not how we started out. So, perhaps Trump appears to be getting better to some whereas people like Biden’s party seem to be taking a turn for the worse? If people want good leaders then good people will have to get out from behind their keyboards, form a party and enter the fight. Otherwise, what’s the point in complaining when the choice is between two questionable options. The Bible predicts that things will get worse on earth before “the end”. Perhaps God allows this so that we are fully convinced that there is no better way than his way. When iffy people are in power it shows us clearly why God’s moral teachings are better than the alternative. People want to throw God out of everything but yet expect good leaders. Unrealistic. In any case Trump was probably the better option from a Christian perspective because he has promised to support policies that align more with Christianity than the other party’s policies.
