Positioned several hundred miles south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, this broad low-pressure system currently displays intermittent shower and thunderstorm activity.

Notably, the environment is becoming more favorable for potential development in the upcoming week.

Recent Information:

  • The likelihood of formation within the next 48 hours remains at a modest 10 percent.
  • Looking ahead to the next 7 days, the prospects are more promising, with a 60 percent chance of development.

Forecasts continue to indicate the possible emergence of a tropical depression by mid-next week, with a westward or west-northwestward trajectory across the expansive region of the eastern and central tropical Atlantic.
