TROPICAL CYCLONE INFORMATION STATEMENT

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service continues to monitor the progress of Tropical Disturbance AL94.
The system has weakened further over the past 24 hours and is unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone.
The limited weather associated with the system is forecast to pass mainly north of the area over the next 24 to 36 hours.
Based on the latest information, the risk to life and property, in the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands, from winds from this system, is very low; no action required.
The risk from rainfall is low, be aware; the risk from lightning and seas is medium, so be prepared. Be reminded that the hurricane season runs until November 30.
At 2 PM ECT or 1800 UTC, Tropical Disturbance AL94 was centered about 245 miles east of Antigua and Barbuda and the Leeward Islands and moving west-northwest at about 20 mph. It is forecast to pass just north of the area on tomorrow.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with higher gusts, mainly to the north of the center, away from the islands.
There is a 20 percent chance of AL94 becoming a tropical depression in 48 hours and a 30 percent chance of it becoming a tropical depression in seven days; this is down from 60% in the last 48 hours.
Please note that there are no tropical cyclone alerts, watches or warnings in effect for the area and these are unlikely to be issued for this system.
Residents should continue to monitor and remain prepared for the hurricane season.
