Tropical Depression Four Moves West-Northwestward in the Central Atlantic

SOURCE: NOAA – Tropical Depression Four is currently situated in the tropical central Atlantic and is tracking west-northwestward.

As of 1100 AM AST, the depression’s center was located at latitude 11.3 North and longitude 42.9 West, approximately 1270 miles east of the Lesser Antilles.

It has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and is moving at a speed of 15 mph.

Over the next few days, the depression is expected to continue moving west-northwest with a gradual increase in forward speed, followed by a turn toward the northwest on Sunday.

Although some strengthening is anticipated, it is forecasted to remain well east of the northern Leeward Islands in the coming week.

No coastal watches or warnings are currently in effect.
