NHC – A broad low-pressure area in the central tropical Atlantic is generating disorganized shower activity.

Although the immediate conditions aren’t favorable for significant development in the next couple of days, prospects are improving.

A tropical depression is expected to take shape later this week.

This system is forecast to track westward or west-northwestward across the central and western tropical Atlantic over the coming days.

7-day formation chance: High at 70 percent.
