SIR RAMEZ, A MOST STATELY AND UNASSUMING DIPLOMAT

My first encounter with Sir Ramez was a long time ago in the days of then Deputy Prime Minister Lester B. Bird, when he was invited into Antigua’s Diplomatic Corps.

His Excellency was then and up to now known to be the most humble of public servants, very pleasant, soft spoken, kind.

His importance was measured in his work, which developed a relationship and understanding between Antigua and the Middle East countries, which currently is bearing fruit.

We will all miss Sir Ramez, and his family most of all, but our Foreign Affairs, in the issues of the countries of the Middle East, will be deprived of his quiet diplomatic approach, which has benefitted Antigua & Barbuda for forty years.

Most persons do not know the many works initiated by Sir Ramez on Antigua & Barbuda’s behalf, for which his name has not been attached, because that was the kind of person he was, working in earnest and quietly without any acclaim whatsoever.

Sir Ramez, your beautiful soul resurrect in glory.
