The community of Antigua and Barbuda is mourning the tragic passing of 27-year-old Delroy Victor, a well-known farmer, whose death has left friends and family in shock.
Victor was found hanging at his home on Wednesday in what police suspect was suicide.
He had been released from the hospital the day before after ingesting poison and was instructed to return for further care on Wednesday at noon.
Loved ones recalled his vibrant presence, with a co-worker describing him as “the life of the farm,” while his cousin noted concerns over his recent drinking.
A local shopkeeper remembered him for his bright smile.
Victor, who moved to Antigua three years ago, leaves behind a grieving community. Condolences to his family.

This is so sad. I pray for everyone who feels they are at the end of their tether and thinks that life/people are better without them or they’re better off dead.

We have to do a complete analysis if the events leading up to this tragic and unfortunate event in order to identify the failures in the system that lead to this. It is not so much to shame and blame anyone but to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again. The breakdown and missteps were too evident and glaring just to glance over and ignore them. Some serious corrective measures are needed going forward.
My condolences to the family how can he be discharged after a suicidal attempt and asked to return the next day ,should not happen, why was he not seen by the psychiatrist immediately after and a referral to the magistrate court to have a court order for admission to clarvue for further care why did this not happen? Somebody drop the ball plain and simple this needs to stop and put mental Health protocols in place that have not been effective in years.
