Tourism Accommodation Re-certification Period Fast Approaching.

(St. John’s Antigua; December 14th, 2022) The licensing of accommodations ensures that the said property has been certified to operate under the laws of Antigua and Barbuda.

“Tourism Licensing and Classification Act, 2019 15.

Necessity to offer tourism service (1) No person shall offer any tourism service specified in the First and Second Schedule for reward or otherwise unless a license has been issued to him under section 12.”

As of 1st January 2023, all tourist accommodation is Antigua and Barbuda must meet tourism industry quality standards and all requirements set forth by the Quality Assurance Unit within the Ministry of Tourism.

Licensing commences, following the completion of the registration process and a successful inspection.

All fees for licensing which includes registration, inspection and certification have been waived until further notice.

The following requirements must be met before an inspection can take place

  • Completed registration form
  • Completed or Confirmed Inspection by Environmental Health Department (CBH)
  • Completed or Confirmed Inspection by Antigua and Barbuda Royal Police Fire Service Department

Please be reminded that all accommodation licenses expire on December 31st annually.

For accommodation properties currently on our register, kindly contact us by January 15, 2023, to be granted a temporary extension of present certificates.
