Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney is imploring residents to seize the opportunity during the current gun amnesty to rid the streets of illegal weapons.
The latest gun amnesty in Antigua and Barbuda began about two weeks ago and continues until December 2022.

“Ms. Barthley, 22, was shot in the neck on Dec. 16 at Mr. Bowen’s office. The police said Mr. Bowen’s gun went off during a scuffle. Ms. Barthley was put on life support but died Tuesday of a heart attack, hospital officials said.”
Emergency Medical Services were there attending to Ms. Barthley. There was blood on her neck. The detectives spoke with Bowen. He handed over to Sergeant Edwards a black PIETRO BERETTA .25 PISTOL which contained 8 rounds of ammunition. The police recovered a spent shell and other items from the scene of the incident. Bowen was detained.
