(Dashboard Update for January 29, 2021)

The most recent report received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Center (MSJMC) has revealed three new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Wednesday 27th January 2021.

Subsequent to the publication of the dashboard for Wednesday 27th January 2021 with the cut off time of 6pm, two additional samples were processed by MSJMC increasing the pending results from sixty-six to sixty-eight.

Of the sixty-eight samples processed by MSJMC, fifty-five were negative and three positive. One of the positive cases is imported while two are non-imported. Investigations have begun and contact tracing and testing are ongoing.

Meanwhile, one new recovery has been recorded bringing that total to one hundred and seventy-five.

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is two hundred and eighteen (218); which is inclusive of thirty-seven (37) active cases.

Meanwhile, ninety-two samples are pending.

The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.

  1. There are surely thousands of active cases in Antigua

That’s what happens when you have a weak and greedy government that let’s in thousands of people from high COVID areas and declines to put any restrictions on them at all; does not test them on arrival and does not quarantine them.

And to add insult to injury, this same weak and greedy government keeps adding restrictions onto the local population (who are not the people bringing disease to the island in the first place) while still at this late hour refusing to screen or control the tourist population at all.

    • “here are surely thousands of active cases”

Yeah and many many more persons naive enough to confuse only “tested cases” with actually sick persons (let only the death).
The problem with that covidian cult of fear with no limit is that it will litterally and absolutely destroy Antigua’s economy.

  2. While they are bragging about the record amount of yachts and private jets coming to antigua, with no testing down to the visitors nor quarantine time .The locals are been asked to carry out all protocols set by the administration. Check the court news and you will see who all paying fines for breaching the quarantine, not wearing mask or breaking curfew. Pure discrimination!

  3. Rolston you’re on point and one comment on here said we who’s gonna feed his kid if the tourists don’t come as if you’re dead you going to eat . Asking the tourists to qurantine for 3 days then run another test to get the clear is not an option well you have a much bigger problem now.

    • Ah me say so and while I’m alive and not working what am I suppose to tell my child, the bank for dem morgage, APUA buy food and other obligations? Are u going to do all dat since aru nah want none tourist ya? Chups ah best me woulda go work fu government so me would a badminded lakka aru anyway who knows it feels it.

  4. “Of the sixty eight samples processed by MSJC fifty five were negative and three positive”. What happened to the other ten cases? Am I missing something, or is something missing?

    • As they have been for months

I guess they just forgot to check their math this time

      Definitely incompetent and dishonest
