Three new cases of COVID-19

The most recent reports received by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment from the Mount St. John’s Medical Center (MSJMC) and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) have revealed three new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Thursday 14th January 2021 at 6pm.

 

Subsequent to the publication of the dashboard for Thursday 14th January 2021 with the cut off time of 6pm, seventy-five samples were processed at the Mount St. John’s Medical Center which increased the pending results from eighty-three to one hundred and fifty-eight.

 

Of the eighty-three samples processed by MSJMC, eighty-two were negative and one positive while of the seventy-five processed by CARPHA, seventy-two were negative and three positive. One of the positive samples was a repeat test.

 

Two of the new cases are non-imported while one is imported.  Investigations are ongoing and contact tracing and testing is in progress.

 

Consequently, the total number of persons with laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda is one hundred and eighty-seven (187); which is inclusive of twenty-five (25) active cases.

 

Meanwhile, seventy one samples are pending.

 

The dashboard has been updated to reflect these changes.
