A woman is the 10th candidate for the new Democratic National Alliance and the party’s third female down to contest the next general election.

Banking professional Kimberly Grant is the DNA’s St. John’s City South candidate. She will go up against Michael Burton of the United Progressive Party and incumbent Steadroy “Cutie” Benjamin.

The other two female candidates for the DNA are its leader Joanne Massiah for All Saints East and St. Luke and Erica Edwards, as the DNA’s choice for St. John’s Rural South.

Grant told a ceremony to announce her candidacy on Saturday that she plans to change the culture of neglect in the constituency.

“St. John’s City South, I have seen your struggles and I understand your plight. You deserve better representation, you deserve sincere representation and you deserve honest representation,” She said.

Her party says he is concerned deeply about what she describes as the
rapid erosion of our country’s culture, image, social cohesion and inequitable distribution of wealth.

  1. How is it that the DNA can attract these young intelligent females, and UPP still scraping the bottom? Is it a sign of the times? Is it that the UPP is goingg gooooooing……. nowhere fast?

Congrats Ms. Grant! Try and make a difference.

  2. As far as I see it, DNA is whosoever will may come. All in the name of female candidates, all in the name of fresh, new and dynamic. Oh please! Give me break, give me an aspirin!
