Despite being granted bail in the High Court more than a week ago, the man accused of murdering Vincia James is reportedly still behind bars.

According to reports, up until yesterday Mikhail Gomes was unable to come up with the $40,000 cash competent of his bail money.

Gomes has been on remand at Her Majesty’s Prison  charged with murdering Vincia James three years ago. Vincia’s body was never found.

Last week, Justice Ian Morley granted bail to Gomes  of $200-thousand with a cash component of $40-thousand.

Since then there has been a national outcry against the decision of the judge.

Prison Superintendent Phillip told Pointe Xpress that Mikhail Gomes has not been released.

  1. I don’t know where the “national outcry” is? Everybody I talk with says “leave him right where he is”. As for bail, he’s getting the same treatment as anybody else.

  2. The judge might as well have denied bail. I don’t know if the accused is deserving or not, but bail with such high ransom is no bail at all.

  3. Dem say he kill someone,BAIL? A so easy people kill people and get away with bail… BIG STRUPES!!!!!!!!!!you all give me a break

  4. Just recently 4 men walked away from murder charges of cambel Jackson, 3 of them were on bail.
But I guess they were your friends so no public out cry…thinking

  5. We keep forgetting that there is a justice system in place here and many of us without knowing the facts have already formed our own conclusions in our heads. He murder accused, Not convicted murderer so he have rights until when or if that day come.
