Team Dean Jonas cleans drains and gutters in St George before storm Tammy
A group of volunteers led by Dean Jonas, has completed the cleaning of the drains and gutters within the St George community prior to the arrival of storm Tammy.
The team, which calls itself TeamDeanJonas, has been working tirelessly since last week to clear the debris and garbage that clogged the drainage system and posed a flood risk to the residents in the Potters Girlstown, sections of the Potters Main Road and the Pigotts communities.
TeamDeanJonas has also pledged to continue its work after the rain passes, especially in the Paynters West area, where some flood victims are in need of assistance.
The team plans to distribute relief items to the affected families, as well as help them with cleaning.
Dean Jonas said that he was proud of his team and thanked them for their dedication and service. He also urged other citizens to join the volunteer effort with Ms Keiva Davis and contribute to the recovery of the nation.
“We are all in this together, and we have to help each other in times of crisis,” he said. “I commend TeamDeanJonas for their exemplary work and I invite everyone who can, to join us in making a difference.”

While you are impressed with the emptiness of Dean Jonas, most of St. George was without water on that very day. WHO and UNICEF need to take a look at Antigua. We are comparable to some East and Southeast Asian countries that are having dire water issues and the incompetence of ALP is soaring. There is not a great amount of money to be gained from the water crisis so they couldn’t care less but in the interim, they are still grabbing whatever they can with their numerous water trucks that operate around the clock. Rubbish, I did not see Dean Jonas with any team cleaning drains or clearing any gutters in Potters, in fact the only time I had ever seen him was election time. I saw Mr Watts all day Friday and Saturday with a team clearing the gutters. It was a blessing as it prevented the water from over flowing and into houses.

You who have claimed to be an Executive of a major Financial Institution as well as having experience in corporate reorganization requiring headcount reductions.
You write in support of a government and a Political party who sees its primary role is to provide some form of paycheck to its supporters.
With an educated public informed decision, accountability and transparency the Barbuda Council could deliver equivalent services to what it’s currently providing with a 90% reduction in its payroll.
Antigua likewise could reduce its head count by 60% but in both cases that would be politically suicidal.
Anguilla makes USD $40 MM per year for its AI domain with a 10% going to the domain creator.
