The Antigua and Barbuda Union of Teachers has exercised great patience with the Ministry of Education who has continuously erred in the execution of their duties.
The evidence will show that we have met with their representatives on many occasions and have withdrawn our previous threats of industrial action with the hopes that our demands would be satisfactorily addressed.
However, this continued failure on the part of the Ministry of Education has left much to be desired.
The trust has been broken and we can longer operate on the premise that they will fulfill their promises by the timelines they would have imposed on themselves.
Therefore, the A& BUT will maintain its stance and will hold its services if the Ministry of Education does not satisfactorily meet our demands.

The teachers should try and get an independent source to proof read and edit their press releases because the one yesterday and this one does not look so good. Just saying ……teachers raise the standard please……

Daryl ‘Ah Who He’ Matthew’s is an utter waste of space. The fact that he’s now in charge of DoE doesn’t bode well to an end to the teaching professions demands.
When I read that some teachers haven’t received their full wages for months/years; and yet ABLP government ministers have never been short-changed themselves monetarily in wages, or travel, and in a bucket load of freebies – all at the tax payers expense. How?
In the run-up to the election, money was somehow found for other professional and union bodies, yet now the ABLP can’t find a dollar cent!
Looks like Gaston Browne Island (sorry again, I meant Antigua & Barbuda 🇦🇬) has been hoodwinked!

Did it occur to that the teachers didn’t write the article. Stop being so petty jack.
As the Minister responsible for Education and Festivals. He is putting all of his energy into Festival/Carnival. Many of the ladies would be ALMOST NAKED.That is easier to organized than EDUCATION.
And many of those “STRIKING EDUCATORS” will be some of the “LADIES) dancing “HALF NAKED” in the same festival he organized!!!
