CABINET NOTES:

The Minister of Health reported that nurses remained away from their posts on Tuesday afternoon, causing the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center (SLBMC) to cancel some surgeries and to reduce other services that are usually provided by the hospital.

The Minister indicated to the Cabinet that the number reporting for work today, Wednesday, increased but still has not returned to the usual level.

  1. Over 12 billion in 8 years, not mentioning the 100 or so loans(that we know of) billions in CIP and people continue to revert to industrial action to get what’s theirs. A testament to the incompetence of Gaston Browne and his mishandling of the nation’s economy. The man is a dunce and hides his failures by being derogatory and abusive. But, many of you voted this clown back to continue his destruction of our country, so …..it is what it is. Can we really afford another five years of this man and his administration?

  2. Like seriously 🙄!! Sorry for the poor patients what about us? That is the problem none sorry for us and that is the reason why we are having the problem we are having

    • @JJ: If the Nurses were paid what they are worth and promised. We would not have those issues today. To all of you Nurses with your RN. The estimated total pay for a Registered Nurse is $103,326 per year in San Antonio Texas, with an average salary of $98,185 per year. The door are opened to all. Whosoever will may come.

  3. That is why I insist that going forward, all these collective agreements must be kept current so that we are not faced with these ongoing issues that threaten to curb essential services and cripple the nation. It is rather poor management that allows these issues to go on without a resolution and settlement. Peoples salary, working conditions and other pertinent issues are not things that ought to be dragged out. The must be addressed and addressed quickly or else……… I hope for the benefit of all that things will return to a state of normalcy quickly.

  4. The nurses are human too with a family to look after.. they can’t come look after sick people they don’t know when their household hungry and can’t be comfortable… do better ABLP.. with a 9% GDP nobody should be taking industrial actions for fair compensation… DO BETTER

  5. No sorry there…. we want what’s ours. Matter of fact who knigted molwyn? Say what yall want but we putting down tools if we can’t get what is ours. I respect teachers alot but anybody teach, but when we put down tools. No defense force or doctor can do our jobs. They better stay awoke…a word to the wise. We are fedup…the passion we are pushing now for what’s ours is not normal. Innocent will suffer for the guilty…
