Students Gain Practical Airport Insights through Internship Programme

4

In an effort to provide students with real-world exposure to airport operations and the aviation industry, the Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority organized an internship programme.

Spread across departments like Accounts, Operations, Commercial, Customer Service, and more, a group of twenty interns acquired practical skills and theoretical knowledge.

The initiative, guided by dedicated employees and managers, aims to equip participants for successful careers.

Certificates were awarded upon completion, marking a significant step towards their future pursuits.

Congratulations to the interns for their involvement and best wishes for their upcoming endeavors.

  1. The Executive of a Major Financial Company presumably has had his interns comings through his units in the past at his financial services firm.

What’s not clear. Was this was a paid or unpaid internship. Or were the students group shadowing the various aspects of the airport operations, to get them oriented into being Essential workers and or Frontline workers.
Internships has been the pathway to some of the most storied careers, but sounds like entry level bookkeeping, before it handed off to outside accountants.
Job shadowing should be standard practice throughout all aspects including government offices especially policy making.
    One step at a time.

Internships has been the pathway to some of the most storied careers, but if its entry level bookkeeping before it handed off to outside accountants, that is not a viable career these days when Quick books and a myriad of such programs are available.
