Reports say the Scotts Hill man telephoned the Bolans Police Station and reported that some unknown person(s) had broken into his jeep and stolen his gun.

This offence reportedly occurred at Darkwood Beach sometime between 9:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on December 31, 2023.

Reports say the man and his family went to the beach, having parked his Kia Sportage on the northern side of the shore facing west.

He reportedly secured the vehicle and locked his .380 Beretta under the driver’s seat, and they all went for a swim.

However, when he returned to his jeep at about 10:30 a.m., he discovered that the glass of the left back passenger door had been broken and his firearm stolen from where it had been hidden.

Apparently, the perpetrator had used a hard object to break the glass and then had pushed a hand through the broken window in order to open the door and remove the weapon.

A search was carried out by the Police for any suspicious person(s) and the firearm, but without success.

  1. They need to start charging these gun owners with recklessness possession of a firearm and failure to safeguard them. Fine them $20k and I bet you these guns will no longer be stolen or placed in a callous manner and secured well.

    • Ammmm he was at the beach..I guess he could of had a lil bag and kept in on the sand with him and family

      • If you are going to the beach you don’t need your gun. His action is callous. If he is going to the beach and he is not operating business you take your gun home and place it in a safe place secured and locked. This is not a wallet stolen it’s a gun, but when that same gun with the gun man holding it to you or your family robbing you i bet you will have a different story.

  2. This is just ridiculous. Nuff ton a guns are already on the street that our law enforcers need to make a priority in confiscation. Fines need to be put in place for all firearm holders.

  3. This country is going to ruins very rapid. Our leadership gears everything to wealth. They don’t see love as prosperity. They don’t see good moral and ethical values as progress. Don’t don’t see respect as social development and growth. Everything is about wealth. Love for country is good civic pride , love of country means no corruption in public and private offices and dealings. Remember the days when the poor neighbor would barrow butter, rice , sugar from those that a better off. The word barrow was used but is was never paid back. The nation was poorer but people had values , morals.
The simple act my the government and now the blaming of the workers by the minister and his government is lack of respect. Yesterday’s finger pointing by the minister of agriculture was wicked. We are hearing rumors that he has vested interest in the land grabbing.

  4. The youth grabbing guns to rob. The collar criminals grabbing office- political and otherwise to rob the nation of lands – corruption in public office- stealing millions, traveling allowances going straight into their accounts. We didn’t need the 2% increase we needed to stop the stealing.
Example school meals is now buying food/ supplies – chicken etc from the Serian with the store by market- that is not kool . CMC imports -so why not use CMC to supply school meal. The answer is no kick back.

  5. With the number of robberies that take place on Dark Wood beach daily one would think that a police or two who be on patrol..a couple of my clients have been victims on 3 occasions in the past 2 months…smh smh
