ST. JOHN, Antigua and Barbuda – 5th May, 2025…….It is with deep sorrow and profound regret that I learned of the tragic death of a young woman during the Labour Day celebrations at Fort James Beach. On behalf of the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda, I extend heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all who are grieving this sudden and painful loss.
Labour Day is a time when we come together to honour the hard work and contributions of our workers, and to celebrate the spirit of unity and progress that defines our nation. It is deeply saddening that such a joyous occasion has been marred by this unfortunate event.
As Acting Prime Minister and Minister responsible for Labour and Public Safety, I call on all citizens and residents across the island who are partaking in Labour Day festivities to take special care to ensure their safety and the safety of others. Let us remain vigilant, look out for one another, and conduct our celebrations in a responsible and peaceful manner.

An acting prime minister is when the prime minister is out of state.
Pm Gaston Browne was ta a function this morning.
Where is he?
If he is not in island is that how it is done?
Does the PM just jump on a plane whenever without the nation being informed.
He doesn’t take responsibility unless he can look pristine. Other than that, someone else is always at fault.
Gaston is in trouble around the world so Ron saunders ask not to have him speak of this incident, but allow someone else because this will further tarnish his public image.
You all are just evil, condolences is just a word any one can say. People leave their homes and make fools of themselves for politicians not realizing they are being sacrificed for people who do not care one damn about them. So sorry for her family
