Beazer Says Barbudans ‘Tired of Division’ as He Outlines Development Agenda

Kendra Beazer said Barbudans are seeking a shift away from political conflict and toward development, as he outlined priorities focused on education, business opportunities and expanding access to resources.

“Persons are tired of division, they’re tired of stagnation, they’re tired of delay. They want to see progress. They want to see development,” Beazer said during a campaign interview.

He said his vision for Barbuda centers on expanding opportunities, particularly in education and entrepreneurship.

“This new era… looks at extending those freedoms that Barbudans enjoy — access to more educational opportunities, access to financing to start up businesses that are innovative, value to the community of Barbuda,” he said.

Beazer identified education as a key pillar of his plans, describing it as essential to national and personal development.

“Education is your passport towards a better future,” he said. “Without education, you’re nothing. You don’t know how to run your business. You don’t know how to manage your finances.”

He encouraged residents to pursue all forms of learning, from short courses to advanced degrees, stressing that development must be continuous.

“Anybody that is thinking about pursuing education… go for it. Don’t limit yourself, don’t limit your capacity, continue to learn,” he said.

Beazer also pointed to efforts to expand access to education on the island itself, including discussions around increasing physical presence of training and academic institutions in Barbuda.

“For the future, what we would like to see is for more physical entities to be in Barbuda, so that Barbudans can be included as much as possible into our overall educational system,” he said.

His remarks come as campaigning intensifies ahead of the upcoming general election, with parties presenting competing visions for development across Antigua and Barbuda.

  1. Kendra are you that ignorant not to recognize the APARTHEID FENCES which developers are using to separate the Barbudans from their businesses, modern day slave plantations from the rightful owners of Barbuda.
    Please take your schizophrenia meds.

Please take your schizophrenia meds and keep rubbing on your bleaching creams but those won’t make you white not even your white lover.

  3. He is right about this:

“He encouraged residents to pursue all forms of learning, from short courses to advanced degrees, stressing that development must be continuous”.

But he must understand 0 advancement have been made in Antigua and Barbuda that gives opportunity for people with advance degrees. There is literally 0 progress in anything that encourages this.

Hotels hire foreigners mainly for managerial positions (Royalton Chic), the police promotes based on years of service and not degrees, elected officials are elected and put in charge of a ministry not based on advance degree, those with advance degrees encourage the ABLP PM Minister Gaston Browne to intervene in matters that is of national importance to encourage efficiency, fairness, and prudence and he blatantly tells you, with an advance degree in the field, he will not be helping you.

But I will see what leverage and power I have in the village of Bolans during this election. Bolans is tired of just/only gutter cleaning, road repairs (and then dug out), plastic container of food, beach cleaning, light on poll, duty free for tragedy/ragedy motor vehicle, sending your niece to get a job to test the care of the politicians to then being ignored by multiple politicians for the help she needs (waiting for 2 years for that call back at the same place they sent her), politicians being wealthier while in office (not prior to being elected to show they are already successful and can manage/govern but only when entered office money magically appeared), Bolans is tired of commenters being threatened with murder and robbery for simply speaking up on crimes and politicians lack of competence in dealing with the deadly high crime rate, etcetera.

There are no progress or encouragement for folks to get high and advance degree and stay in Antigua and Barbuda. They don’t need the advance degree to clean the toilets that is dirty from hotel visitors getting food poisoned and sitting on a toilet from food poisoning but following God’s order to tip a substantial amount no matter how horrific the food and amenities are.

I am not here to tell you how to vote, but you must consider the undisputed facts. I do not think you should vote for ABLP (you shouldn’t) but I am also not saying you should vote for UPP. With UPP I requested a scholarship while in the US studying law and they said there are too many attorneys and turn me down (while granting their folks scholarships for the same law).

So, I attended lawshool, paid for it out of pocket (alone), could not buy all the books I needed (so I use online materials to study which wasn’t adequate), failed an exam because my old computer stop working during an exam (using examsoft for that exam) causing me to fail, had no one to ask for assistance but this motivated me to help Antiguans and Barbudans more (that was why I donated those laptops), and I just telling you people to put your hatred aside for the other political party and truly focused on what you should have by this era, 2026, and you will see it has not even been provided, not even a quarter of it.

  4. What you’re saying Kendra Beazer about Educational and Entrepreneural opportunities for us Barbudans is not wrong, it should be available across the board, for both islands. How can the Prime Minister sit by and allow the implementation of tertiary level Educational facilities being built on Antigua without considering a facility in Barbuda? One bank in Barbuda for eyons and no push to introduce another option. The hospital under equipped, and cannot handle major emergencies, an
International airstrip with a so called airport that can only house so much people at any one given time and don’t talk about the fact that whether rain or hot blazing sun, you have to stand up outside and check-in a piece of counter. Where is the caring Government? If Labour Party wants to make an impact in Barbuda and show people that they genuinely care then these things should have happened LAAANNNGGG TIME!!. They come and using hurricane Irma disaster to claim say they were there, you’re supposed to be there, They are the GOVERNMENT and in a CRISIS COLOUR NAH HAB NO PLACE, HUMANITY DOES! If the opposition was in power then, they were expected to do the same thing. I’m SICK AND TIRED OF THE SAME NONSENSE OF POLITICAL GIMMECKS JUST FOR A VOTE! Kendra Beazer if you wanted to make a change in Barbuda, it didn’t have to take you switching party to get it done. You could have remained focused on the goals you want to achieve, use your influence and links/contacts, let your voice be heard and your presence felt, put pen to paper and use your intelligence and seek out funding for projects that you have outlined for Barbuda and by FERVENT PRAYER AND COMMITTED WORKS, YOU WOULD SUCCEED! Plenty Barbudans would have supported you but nooo!! You had to go cozy up with Labour Party with hopes to let your light shine. Come on bra! I really hope that the ABLP PARTY embrace you wholeheartedly. Don’t forget where your roots began, in the BOWELS OF THE BARBUDA PEOPLE’S MOVEMENT and that is why you can stand firm and not wavering in your beliefs that BARBUDA IS A GEM LIKE NO OTHER! AND WE NAR SELL OUT!! BARBUDA WILL DEVELOP IN ITS TIME, BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE.

  6. Do you know that MP Walker was a die hearth labourite and his entire family but he did what others do he leave and join BPM and also his family too so as to give him the support, so how come it’s a big sin Kendra commit to leave BPM and join ABLP, do anyone take the time to ask both person why the change, I think it’s time for Walker to hang up his belt and give and younger person a chance he has an intelligent college graduate son he should be grooming him to take his place if he so want to keep the seat within BPM.
It has been alleged that 2 BPM supporter wanted to contest the MP seat previously and they back down after he Walker persuaded not to so as he could contest the seat, one of the individual contested the council elections and won, the other was given a position as the secretary of the Barbuda Council and was later was fired.

  7. Did I say that Kendra should not be given the chance to run in the political race? Out of everything I said, the only thing you could comment on is what Walker did? What do you contribute to Barbuda? Ask yourself that! Kendra and Walker doing something, what are you doing? Vote for voting sake because you lub red. I didn’t come here with any hear say, all I said is that Barbuda will develop by the people for the people in due time.

No more believing the bpm LIES about land. Ready for LEGAL Land Ownership and empowerment

    Let’s Gooooooo Kendra Beazer!

  10. Kendra is the best hope for the future. Barbuda needs to engage with the companies that are now here on the island. These companies employ many locals and many outsiders, and they need to be engaged in the community.. fear of being known as someone who is friendly with the outsiders is causing the outsiders to be further segregated from our culture. The companies need to be approached and educated in the culture of the island . These new residents of Barbuda need to be taught how to say good morning and be polite to the locals. By allowing these companies to exist outside of our live environment with no interaction with us is a crime. The best way to get to know your neighbor is to get to know your neighbor and actively engage engaged with him. Time for division is over time for cooperation understanding is here.
