On Sunday, August 18, we received the grim news of the brutal murder of our beloved Achazia James.
Words cannot explain the pain and loss we continue to feel about the untimely and horrific loss of our loved one, who was just 15 years old.
We are gutted and in shock. Actions of the public to share the horrific photograph of the crime scene have added to the trauma we have been feeling. We urge everyone to kindly desist from sharing these images.

Doing so is insensitive, macabre and multiplies the harrowing memories which have been seared into our memories of Achazia’s murder. We call for empathy and the responsible use of social media in this extremely difficult time.
Instead of sharing these images, we urge members of the public to share information with the police to assist in their investigations.
We call for swift justice for the person or persons who robbed us of our precious Achazia, who brought such light to our lives.
We thank those who have reached out to us to offer words of comfort and support, and ask that you keep our family in your prayers.

WORDS FAIL ME …
It is so sad that people cannot ask themselves, ‘what if that was my family member?’ They have no compassion or care as they hit send. No one wants to see their loved one in that state. Shame also on those persons spreading rumors and speaking poorly about the child’s character. Regardless of what is fact or fiction about who she was, no child deserves what happened to her.
The viciousness of this horrific crime behoove my sensibility to render my total contempt for the depravity that is embedded in a some members of our human fraternity. Can someone just wantonly kills an animal, and discard the presence as road kill: which might have been considered an accident. But this was a human being. A daughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend and family love. How dare anyone disparage her name in vain excuse to tarnish her reputation, as if there is no value in heart of minds; that she too was deserving of the need to want to die a natural death. What is it that cringe not at the soul in contemplation of life’s continuity– that would deny her contribution–given the passage of maturity to the fabric of our society and humanity? I grant my favor in the capacity of life’s relevance, and cannot condone the tragic senseless slaughter of any among us. Much less a budding flower that was denied her fair chance to bloom. This without my acceptance: But for my deepest condolences to her family, friends and well-wishers, and to 🇦🇬 The homeland of our hope. R.I.P: A Beloved Departed Sister.

As a family you have the necessary clues and information which will assist the police in solving this crime as soon as possible.
You can’t be that naive not to know what is happening in her life since she’s such a loved one.

The whole of Antigua and Antiguans abroad wept for your daughter and ask was it necessary to deal with her so strong?
My sincere condolences goes out to her mother bcos no one else will feel her pain afterALL she carried her when all is said & done it will be her who have to live the rest of her life with that grief !

We all need to come together as a society, build each other up, look out for one another, promote good values within our homes and families. That in itself can, to a degree, help combat some of the issues that’s arising. Hopefully all families affected by crime can and will find justice within the legal system.

I feel for the family, but they have some serious questions to answer. Sadly the answers are too late but they also need to come out to help encourage and protect other young people both male and female.
She’s at peace now and no one else can hurt her, but the pain will linger.

She was on the evening news and she actually gave me the impression that this crime will be solve quickly, because of the circle of friends. Presently I will not judge her fitness as a mother, since it’s a grieving moment, so my condolences. Perhaps later.
