The Court of Appeal has ruled against St Peter MP Asot Michael, rejecting his appeal against Speaker Sir Gerald Watt KC’s decision to suspend him from Parliament for misconduct during a session.

The appeal was dismissed due to procedural flaws, with Williams J stating the court lacked jurisdiction over internal parliamentary issues.

This ruling establishes limits on judicial review of parliamentary decisions, highlighting the Speaker’s authority in managing parliamentary conduct.

Asot Michael’s attempts to challenge his suspension have hit a legal dead end, showcasing the judiciary’s restricted role in parliamentary affairs.

The decision sets a precedent for parliamentary autonomy, emphasizing the separation of powers and the limited scope for judicial intervention in parliamentary governance.

  1. COME ON, IS ANYONE REALLY SURPRISED?

The only thing left for you to do now Mr Asot Michael is to become a full blown “whistle-blower” on what was really was going on when you were a fully fledged functioning member of the ABLP, and Gaston Browne in particular.

Remember, how he threatened to tump you down?

Mr Asot, you have more power than you realise.

YOU OWE IT TO THE INDIGENOUS 🇦🇬 TO SPILL THE BEANS …

    • @Brixtonian:
There are more alleged cases of malfeasance attributed to the good MP than one could ever imagine. To be a credible “whistle blower”, you must be certain that you will not be implicated in the process.

        • @Brixtonian:
Lol, Someone reached out to me about a week ago to suggest that U bring you along with me to Antigua for the SIDS4 conference. The person said that you’re not in tuned with the progress in Antigua. You only talk. I told the person that I know nothing about who you are. People have a right to voice their opinions, even if they’re out of touch or wrong. That’s life.

          • @ DAVE RAY

BRIXTONIAN is out of touch. He is jealous of Hon. Gaston Browne accomplishments. He opposes everything ABLP. HE IS A “ SPENT FORCE”

          • Ahhhh, nice try @ INGRAM and Dave Ray; you both may think that I’m “out of touch” as you put it. But may I suggest that there’s a valid and good reason to keep highlighting the broken manifesto promises of the ABLP and in particular that of Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

Some Antiguans seem to accept the way that he runs this great country, however many do not; and if like-minded people like me do not highlight the wayward policies and poor practices of governance, then Antigua & Barbuda is in big big trouble.

WHEN THERE’S TRANSPARENCY IN ALL MATTERS I’M GONE ..

      • It doesn’t seem like you are aware that we was always an ALP member. There’s where he learnt his craft. You boss got tricked by him out of the $5mil. up in St. Philips North and Asot still had the gall to challenge him for the leadership. Asot has his number so he should heed all the warnings to tread carefully.

    • Just maybe he isn’t willing to commit political suicide, Gaston is not Lester Bird!

  2. Asot Michael it is time for you to go and rest. St. Peter’s wouldn’t elect you again. You have been a DISGRACE. I heard you will form your own POLITICAL PARTY. I would advise you that you are a ” SPENT FORCE “.

Your Friend BRIXTONIAN is also a SPENT FORCE, therefore whatever advise from Him will be useless.

  3. Come on @Ingram. We heard things like this before and Asot ran away with St. Peter. Gaston Browne and ALP are the spent force. The party is now full of flip-floppers, traitors and a$$kissers most of whom are not credible. Just like the DAWG. No one is real surprised at this.
Speaking of spent force, you have Pussy Salad, Jerry, the 1000 watt bulb, who is way past his usefulness, Moldwyn Joseph,Cutie Shamu Benjamin and LiNohell Hurst. All way past their usefulness.

    • Do you really know the MP for St. Peter’s? I guess you’re just talking as an ABLP opponent. You seem to have an emotional vendetta against the current elected MPs of this administration.

  4. @ DAVE RAY:The EVIL THAT MEN DO LIVES WITH THEM AND AFTER THEM.SO SHALL IT BE WITH ALL OF THOSE BIRDS OF ONE FEATHER. FOR THEY WOULD BE FLOCKED TOGETHER..

  5. Actually @Dave Ray, I do know Asot Michael. I have had sit down conversations with him for over an hour. Cant divulge what he had to say since he asked me not to, but let’s just say the man is no fool. Chances are, he know a lot about the DAWG. As per Bramble, they were like ‘batty and po.”
