The St. Mary’s South Development Group Inc, were presented with a donation from the Reverend Francine Joseph-Anson, President, and Dr. Thomas Parillon, Vice-President of the Yahweh Initiative.
This financial contribution was made to assist in the group’s Christmas cheer project.
The Yahweh Initiative’s generous donation will assist in providing the most vulnerable in the St. Mary’s South Constituency with food packages geared toward single mothers and vulnerable residents, and a hot lunch programme geared towards the elderly for this Christmas season.
The Honourable Samantha Marshall, who collected the donation on behalf of the group, stated that “In a year full of challenges and uncertainty, I am moved by the resolute generosity displayed by the Yahweh Initiative. Their commitment to supporting those most vulnerable members of our community has truly been inspiring.
Contributing to the mission of Inter-Caribbean Evangelism Mission of which Yahweh Initiative is a part of, was important since many of our Christian partners are committed to making a lasting impact in the communities where our associates and our members call home, stated Reverend Joseph-Anson. We’re glad that we’ve been able to help support the works of the St. Mary’s South Development Group Inc.
The Yahweh Initiative which is an extension of the Helping Hand Initiative (Nevis) is located in Seaview Farm, but whose headquarters is based primarily in Canada, has a track record of assisting the most vulnerable in Antigua, earlier this year; they also generously assisted three members of the Villa Community in executing some very much needed repairs to their homes. Reverend Joseph-Anson stated that the main focus of the Initiative is to “Share the Love of God”.
The St. Mary’s South Development Group Inc. is a St. Mary’s South based non-profit organization, who has strived to support the survival and development of our community.
