Prime Minister Gaston Browne officially announced the date during a rally in Urlings Village, where he endorsed the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate, Dwayne George.
Browne emphasized that the election was about community advancement, urging voters not to “cut their nose to spoil their face” by choosing a candidate who couldn’t deliver.
George, once a UPP member, switched to the ABLP, citing his commitment to serving his community.
The by-election features candidates from ABLP, UPP, MLVOP, and DNA, promising a competitive race.

Listening to ABLP rally last evening , I now can conclude that Dwayne George will win that seat in St. Mary’s Dwayne George is INTELLIGENT , POISED and READY to lead St. Mary’s South to a BRIGHTER future. Praying that the good people will do the right thing and vote for Dwayne George.

Really, why should we vote for Dwayne George? When the Government of this country can not provide the three basic needs of each and every citizen in this country food, water and shelter.
Food cost is excessively high getting to the point of being rediculus.
People still can’t get water on a regular basis.
And the middle class in the society is now being pushed in the poorer category.
Address these matters, gone are the days of bribes and empty promises when people are struggling to make two ends meet.

Social media has given a voice to everyone. Now that the by election date has been announced, political operatives are out in their numbers trying to whip up support for their preferred candidate. Many such operative do not have any link or roots in St. Mary’s South but they are very vocal nonetheless. The die has been cast. Only the people of St. Mary’s South would ultimately decide this.
