It only took a few hours after the polls closed to reveal that the Dr. Timothy Harris Lead Team Unity coalition had won the right to govern the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for five more years.

Needless to say, Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris and his “Dream Team” are overjoyed at the victory, which came late in the evening with six out of the 11 constituencies.

What is known so far: Team Unity has won with Lindsay Grant (4), Shawn Richards (5), Timothy Harris (7), Mark Brantley (9) Eric Evelyn (10) Alexis Jeffers (11) Akilah Byron Nisbett (3). Those above have been called but they are also claiming Jonel Powell (2)

Labour has won Dr. Douglas (6). Constituencies 1, 2 and 8 still outstanding

The elections were announced May 18 by Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris, less than a week after the National Assembly was dissolved. Nomination Day was May 27, where 23 candidates from five parties and one independent were nominated to contest the election.

  1. Antigua needs to do a better job of marketing and lowering the pricing of its CIP to compete with St. Kitts. For example, the business investment option for the CIP should be cut in price by 50%. Also, the fees to add a spouse or newborn child should be reduced by at least 50% as well, as St. Kitts fees are lower on those items as well. Make no mistake about it, St. Kitts is going after Antigua’s business and economy.
