Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris says that his administration is currently exploring the possibility of wage and salary increases for workers in the twin-island federation.

Speaking at the annual convention of the ruling People’s Labour Party (PLP) on Saturday, Harris said that he has asked the financial secretary to consider the cost of granting the increase.

“Out of the love of my heart and that of my Cabinet, I know money coming for you,” said Harris who added that with uncertainty in the global environment the prices of goods and services are increase due to matters beyond the nation’s control

“I feel your pain …. My government have been considering it and we are going to be bringing some measures that will bring some relief to you.”

The Prime Minister said these will include measures to reduce gas prices at the pump and will reduce certain taxes on certain items of groceries to make the cost of living more manageable for all.

“We want a St Kitts and Nevis where our sons and daughters stand free, realising their dreams and aspirations and creating a wonderful country.”

He also promised to devote the next three years of his term to make St Kitts and Nevis the number one country in the entire world.

“Over the past seven years, we have accomplished some amazing things. We brought the inherited debt of the last administration from a high of 80 percent to a low of 59 percent. We were first in the OECS to achieve the international benchmark of debt to GDP ratio of 60 percent.”

He reminded the nation that while things were tough due to the pandemic , his administration was able to deliver three stimulus packages to the  while implementing income support.

  1. That little country is easy to manage. Antigua is much larger and is more complicated. What Harris is doing is not special and he can’t fill Hon. Browne’s shoes.

    • TIMOTHY HARRIS: THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF A PRIME MINISTER THAT CARES ABOUT HIS PEOPLE.

UNLIKE GASTON BROWNE WHO GIVES AWAY CONCESSIONS SO THAT HE CAN GET HIS HOUSE RENTED.

SAD TO SAY THAT GASTON BROWNE DON’T LIKE BLACK PEOPLE

      • @ anna salome: In order to like others, you must first like yourself. So Gaston Browne, does not like himself. Therefore,he cannot and could not like anyone.

    • Wait a so fooly you be. St kitts have a population of 53000 compared to Antigua 99000. Antigua has more spending power than st. Kitts means more money circulating in the economy. More spending power means more taxes.

    • What’s the matter comrade? Gaston’s “Economic Powerhouse” has shut down? SKN closed its borders during the pandemic and Antigua never did; who should be better off? Leadership matters!!! SKN to de world!!!!

      • Correction @ Who Knows: Antigua closed its borders to the diaspora for around 5-6 months – HOW DID YOU OVERLOOK THIS?

    • @ A.JAMES: Stay off the weed,it could lead into hallucinations. As you are hallucinating right now.

  2. Wages and Salaries increases being considered in St.Kitts. What is that Antigua and Barbuda? Elections are coming and you would be getting your payouts then. Take the bribes, gifts, and vote their arses out of Office. That Gaston Brownie Wicked Labor Party.

  3. St Kitts is doing something right and they are not even a powerhouse. I bet yiu Gaston Browne thinks he is smarter than Timothy Harris.

  4. First Class Government led by a First Class Prime Minister who understands economics and public policy. Stay the course. Your the beacon of the OECS. Number one performing economy in the OECS.

People first. From sugar production to a First Class tourist destination. All the major brands are represented in your tourism plant. Congratulations.

Antigua and Barbuda no hab none. Last one was the Holiday Inn. That garn a gwassa lang time.

Big up your people. Give them spending power and your economy will continue to thrive. Maintain your infrastructure. Electricity, water, roadways, airport, cargo port, government facilities and most of all continue to invest in your human capital. They are your greatest asset. Congratulations to team UNITY. Your people are happy and well taken care of.

Some of these PM cabals can learn from your governance and cooperation between The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

  5. Amichaelo James your comment on size is so stupid it does not deserve a response. St. Kitts is out performing Antigua because it has a serious government that is not awash in corruption.

    • And by the way, it is not size but management. I am sure you know that in other areas of life size does not matter. It is performance 😂.

  6. Does any of you know what Skb minimum wage is? If it’s lower than ours there’s no way to compare.
St. Kitts has its own problems, different is you Antiguans hide on social media and cuss cuss but wen it’s time for action= silence!

Barbados did a $.14 drop in petrol and Mia is the best pm ever! I can’t with your people,

The fire truck issue, blame the workers and the chief, have you seen any minister driver any of them?

    You people are politically retarded

  7. And in Antigua we cannot get hard earn Overtime that is die to us from since 2019.if we dont Protest then no pay. How can this be right. May god help us all.

  8. First it was Barbados 🇧🇧 and now St Kitt’s 🇰🇳 Putting their citizens up front and centre – OVER TO YOU GASSY …

  9. Prime Minister Timothy Harris has announced at his PARTY’S CONVENTION, that there will be salary increases and wages for government workers. While he did not announce a time frame, he said it’s around the corner. Very soon. It’s right here.”

“SIGH. One big SIGH. So wa happen to de construction workers in Nevis? Dem nuh want work too or dem hire a few to not mek it look bad? NO COMPANY FROM TAIWAN has any call setting up any construction company in Nevis and cutting out everyone else. No wonder it was kept a secret. This is some real BS.
So many apartments empty in Shaws Road, Fountain, Barnaby and around New Castle. They were built to provide housing to the medical students and now Taiwan will get all that business. Like really? You guys really signed off on this?”

  10. Gaston Knows It All Brownie is a BANKER. That is what he says. I never realize,if someone worked for a Penny Bank, that person is a Banker. All I know of Harris,Prime Minister of St.Kitts,he is not a Banker. However,he seems to be managing the Finances of his Country much better than Antigua and Barbuda own,Gaston Brownie. He gave his people stimuli, double salaries to Civil Servants this past Christmas. What did the people of Antigua and Barbuda get? They got ridiculed in every ways, shapes and forms from Gaston Brownie. If he and his band of merrymen are voted back into Office come next elections. We the people deserved what we got and are about to get in the future.

    • Absolutely @ BLACK-MAN, if the ABLP are voted back in again, I don’t want to hear a word of complaint from his devotees and disciples when the country continues to tank.

Gassy is only being nice at this venture because he wants our votes, but I can bet your bottom dollar he will revert to type.

REMEMBER, MONKEY 🐒 NAH MEK GIRAFFE 🦒 …

  11. Effective March 22, 2022 (Rel 08/2022), Gas per gallon at SOL is now 15.93 per gallon. At Delta Service station its 18.01 says SKN Ministry of Finance
