Response to Social Security Picket
St. John’s, Antigua February 16, 2023- It has come to the attention of the Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB), about a picket which took place on February 14′, 2023, at our Long Street Branch led by the daughter of
one of our beneficiaries.
The ABSSB wishes to advise that we have been in dialogue with the beneficiary,
and that her application for survivor’s benefit was in fact completed 2022.
However, after thorough investigations it was realized that owing to a technical issue her payment was inadvertently omitted from our monthly pension
payment cycle.
We have since apologised to our beneficiary for the inconvenience that this
situation has
caused but are heartened by the realisation that
continued dialogue strengthens our commitment to “grow to provide for you”

This is unacceptable. It took you this long to blame a glitch in the system. Can you repay this woman for all the inconvenience s and stress this may have caused? Is this what you’re going to tell everyone? This is incompetence and had these people not dragged social security into the public, this would not have happened.
why do you choose to take a low and negative stance on the situation. has multiple people complained to you of this exact siuation? do you see many people picketing for the issue.. then whats wrong with a mistake or an error happpening… for pete’s sake they took ownership, apologized and moving on why u have to go on with your gaslighting shut the hell up and lets move on look at the positive here. if you so passsionate about this why werent u picketing with the one person to get this done..

It’s about Time me and all other Beneficiaries March and Demonstrate.We have reached the age of pension over a year now and cannot get what we paid into social security.It Bothers me to think some of them Voted for Grabson Brown paperbag.I need my money, Why can’t I get it.
Hogwash. For all those who were trying to demean this daughter in public, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Note to public: It seems is if one has to air their grievances in the public, before anything is done.
Now, I hope the Calypsonians, uniform providers, newly qualified pensioners, garbage collectors and others, who are owed since Jesus was crucified, would take similar action. So many people are suffering in silence. AND, would there be punitive damages Only he who feels it, knows it

Why is it getting under your skin that people are commenting on the crap at social security? We’ve seen all the comments of persons who are affected and given the same BS story by social security. And, so far, only when someone pickets that their issue gets resolved quickly.
If y’all don’t want bad publicity, do the right thing and pay people what’s due to them in a timely manner. If it’s really “glitches” causing all these issues, then too many incompetent people working at that place -the “glitches” are happening to often.

Why do these people only respond to protests? They need to start firing some of these lazy bums.
Many people who are owed by Social Security are waiting YEARS for their funds to be paid and all SS ever tells them is that they are waiting to enter them into the payment system. YEARS!!! I am pretty sure that SS just does not have the funds to pay and so delays entering them into the system. Pay the people what you owe them!
Negative stance? There are numerous people waiting on social security for payments and you find this negative? Maybe you need to shut the hell up and stop defending this incompetence. Perhaps if it was you or someone close to you you would be singing a different tune. BTW, I was at every senior protest, and I am not a senior. . yet ,so wheel and come again.

I am still waiting on my child’s money my husband died n buried soooooooo long n nothing he had 2 jobs n was paying from both so tell me Mr. Sorry n move on should I call upon you to stand in the gap for social security?

Next picket the Treasury Department for backpay and overtime from 2018 oh God man me done work for um.
