Soca star Claudette “CP” Peters says she is “truly honored” after being recognized with an Icon Award from the Caribbean and African Women of Impact (CAWI) Honors.
In a message following the announcement, Peters thanked the organizers for the recognition and described the moment as a proud one for both her and Antigua and Barbuda.
“I am truly honored to have received this award,” she said, adding that she wished she could have been there in person to celebrate alongside other “beautiful, strong, powerful women.”

The award forms part of the Caribbean and African Women of Impact Honors, which recognizes women making significant contributions across culture, leadership and community.
Peters said the recognition also reflects her ongoing journey in music and her commitment to representing her country. She noted that she proudly carries Antigua and Barbuda with her as she continues her work.
“Thank you so much for celebrating my journey, for celebrating my music, and the work I will continue to do for my people and my culture,” she said.
She added that she accepts the award with “gratitude” and “humility and pride.”

Congrats Claudette. Ever since your early performances at Jolly Beach in the 1999s with Sleepy i was impress with you. And told you what a beautiful voice you had. I’ve been following your performances since than and blame the fact that you weren’t an international icon on your manager and promoters. You are in the same category as those Soca Diva’s in Trinidad. However they have much better exposure. But as you continue your carrier I wish you many more awards and recognitions. God Bless you Claudette.
