Freedom FM — A Piper single engine plane, which was headed from Antigua to St Martin, developed engine trouble and attempted to land at Vance Amory International Airport Airport but dropped short in the sea on approach.
A pilot from St. Martin and student pilot from Anguilla were the only people onboard.
They swam ashore with only minor injury to the pilot.
Attempts are being made to remove the plane from the water.

I cannot even begin to imagine how traumatic and horrifying that experience must have been, probably didn’t even get a chance for their lives to flash before their eyes. Fortunately, it was not a here today, gone today situation. Hope they both cherish every moment of being alive after this.
Experience is the greatest teacher and the student pilot, if they decide to continue in their chosen career after this, can put in his/her CV they have first-hand experience in emergency landing procedures during a plane crash. Personally, I will never get behind the controls of an airplane ever again, that is God sending you a message – This is not for you my child, this is not for you.
