Sir Molwyn Joseph pays tribute to the late Nathan Dundas

3

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Nathan Dundas, a former associate with whom I had the pleasure of working during my tenure as Tourism Minister.  I regard Nathan as even more than an associate but as a trusted friend with whom I worked closely to secure the expansion of the Cruise Ship Industry in Antigua and Barbuda.

His contributions to the development and expansion of the cruise business in Antigua and Barbuda led to several important collaborations to include the building of the Nevis Street Pier and the development of the most successful marketing program during the years 2001-2004. Antigua and Barbuda then became a legitimate contender in the market place of the cruise industry up to today.

Nathan was an industry leader who earned respect not only in the Caribbean, but throughout Europe and North America.  He was highly regarded by the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association and was often called upon for his knowledge, experience and expertise.

I feel a great sense of personal loss as I reflect on the many days, weeks and months when we travelled the world to promote Antigua and Barbuda.

His contributions will forever be treasured by me and appreciated by the Government.

To his dear wife and children, I express my deepest, heartfelt condolences and stand ready to be of assistance and I pray for the Lord our God to strengthen you through this dark valley of sorrow and grief.

May he rest in eternal peace and may his service to nation building forever remain an inspiration to all of us.
