Silver for Ellie Shaw, Bronze for Alessandro Bazoni in Swimming
The medals keep rolling in for Team Antigua and Barbuda, with athletes making waves in both swimming and track and field at the 2025 CARIFTA Championships.
At the CARIFTA Swimming Championships, 2023 Junior Sportswoman of the Year Ellie Shaw earned Silver in the Girls 15–17 200m Breaststroke on April 19, while Alessandro Bazoni picked up Bronze in the Boys 11–12 100m Butterfly, marking a proud day for the swim team.
Also medaling was Ethan Stubbs-Green, who claimed Bronze in the Boys 15–17 100m Butterfly, bringing Antigua and Barbuda’s day one tally in swimming to four medals.


In athletics, Geolyna “GG” Dowdie sprinted to Silver in the Girls U20 100m final, adding to the country’s medal haul on the track. Earlier, Tyra Fenton struck Gold in the Girls U17 400m (53.93s), and Raniqúe Richards took Bronze in the same age group.
With young talent excelling in the pool and on the track, Antigua and Barbuda continues to shine on the regional stage. 🇦🇬✨
