“Shop Local” Campaign Kicks Off on Small Business Saturday to Capture Christmas Shopping Activity

SFCG SamuelFields Consulting Group (SFCG), a mission driven, private consortium of business and finance experts, will launch 20 LIKKLE GIFT IDEAS just in time for Small Business Saturday, November 27th. This initiative will target both businesses and consumers by showcasing the 20 most unique and innovative local Christmas gifts in the marketplace. Consumers are encouraged to “shop local” and small and micro businesses are provided with education and tools to help strengthen their operations.

As part of this Community Outreach Initiative, SFCG has partnered with West Indies Oil Company (WIOC), a champion of small and microbusinesses. Two prizes of $1,000 and $500 will be awarded to the two of the most innovative small and micro businesses in the program. Businesses on the 20 LIKKLE GIFT IDEAS list will be part of an incubator and will receive training and tools to strengthen their business.

Small businesses are the heartbeat of the economy and as Antigua and Barbuda prepares to lift curfew restrictions, there is eagerness to usher in a new wave of business activity to recapture lost revenues.  With the approach of Christmas and the new tourist season, SFCG will host a masterclass under the theme “The Gift of Knowledge: Key Finance and Marketing Tools That Small Businesses Need This Christmas.” This 2-hour virtual training program will be held on December 3rd and will be open to existing or aspiring entrepreneurs and small and micro business owners. Topics will include:

  • How to form partnerships to address the global supply chain issues.
  • – Ways to tap into micro financing to bolster your business.
  • – 5 “Money Musts” to strengthen your business.
  • Develop an effective social media campaign and build a powerful online presence and community.

“Despite facing severe hardships in 2021, many small and micro business owners are ready to take on new challenges, but lack the financing and tools to grow their business. With the anticipated surge in business activity during Christmas and the upcoming tourist season, this is the opportune time for small and micro businesses to start planning how to keep their products and services in front of their customers and make strategic plans for 2022,” said Megan Samuel-Fields, CEO of SFCG.

For consumers, the “Shop Local” campaign will highlight the range of unique, authentic product and service offerings that are available in Antigua and Barbuda. It will also emphasize the importance of supporting local enterprises, as a way to collectively help rebuild the economy. Shoppers who participate in the program will be eligible to win prizes from the list of 20 LIKKLE GIFT IDEAS.

The program is supported by the Antigua and Barbuda Chamber of Commerce and the Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority (ABIA).  Small and micro businesses can REGISTER at https://samuelfieldsconsulting.com/education-and-events/ to participate in the program and also the webinar.
