This is my opinion,we do need some overseas police officers to assist, because it seems like local law enforcement officers are acting very slow
I was happy to learn that the Prime Minister is sprucing in the marine wing of the defense force. We clearly have too many illegal guns in circulation in Antigua and Barbuda and until we are able to cut and limit the internal supply line, these criminal activities will continue. Our porous borders allow for easy inflow of guns and illegal substances. With their best efforts, the police are at a great disadvantage once the guns continue to pour in.
Acting?????? They are indeed slow and lazy and lack of everything that has to do with forensics and investigating crimes.
Antigua can’t do this alone I remember wen end of yr only two death by gun was reported or few robberies now everything changes Antigua need help from overseas dnt make sense trying on there own
We need to get all unlicensed firearms off the street . The government needs to find who is the source of these guns for sale
What if the guns are coming from
Right here what if the said law enforcers know about the guns they are human beings they have mindset just like any other civilian the uniform makes them police that’s it they are ignorant stupid lack any morals and a lot
Of other faults some of them cannot even begin to speak to people properly and as we know them na mek money so anything for an extra dollar they are first human then the uniform
Gives them
Title some
Of them are worst than the criminals.guns coming from
Right in the base piece by piece and easy sell.now school children say an easy 2000$ will get you a gun from
Louis brothers or cool and smooth so Syrians as well but them day gun will continue robbing their places and killing their very own
When i read the comments it appears as if antiguas police are somehow expected to be superheroes.. The same Overseas police with all the resources at their finger tips, still have unsolved crime..
need some of them police from New York to train them and give them the technology they use and crime fighting strategies.
Antigua isn’t a real place
While ever Antiguan police officers are allowed to work 2 or 3 jobs there will be always a conflict of interest.
Antigua’s police are in the job for money only not the job per-say therefore they have no interest in doing proper police work.
Example ! Ringing the police to complain about noisy bars that is open or operating beyond permitted licensing hours, with severe anti social behaviour including gun crime, muggings at gun point, couples have sex in view of residents homes, racing cars along a private residential road at 3am, 4am 5am in the morning is a waste of time as police officers will be acting as security for the bars or drinking and eating there for free as what happens at West Coast Village.
Deputy Police Commissioner Wade after receiving 39 emails in 9 months from residents is typical of the police department. Doesn’t care – Nothing gets done !
Corruption at its best !
If we want to stop the illegal guns from entering the country, we need to go after the the corrupt elements within our law enforcement systems. When containers are offloaded offsite and the contents are intentionally not fully offloaded and inspected, these illegal arms along with other contraband are able to make it through our borders regularly. Too often we hear about the “customs link” that will take the money to look the other way when tasked with clearing containers. Then the numerous reports of corrupt police who shirk their oath to serve and protect citizens when they either know or are related to persons of interest, take…and in many cases seek bribes, and often tip-off persons who are wanted for crimes. This is the current state of affairs, and we need to eradicate these elements from top to bottom.
Antiguans pray only God can help you all, you had the opportunity for change and you blew it so you make your bed lay in it, you all prime minister put all the criminal element at the top to run havoc what you expect, he knows what is going on
WE NEED TO COME UP WITH A LAW WHICH STATES ANYONE THAT IS JAILED FOR ROBBERY, JAILED FOR ANY SERIOUS OFFENSE.. WE WONT KILL THWM BUT WE NEED SOMETHING TO SENS A STRONG MESSGE.. WE NEED TO CHOP OFF BOTH FEET.. let’s see if they can be bad man without FOOT.. no need to kill just CHOP OFF DEM FOOT..
