(Health Minister meets with Shaveesa Gasper)
Shaveesa Gasper, who the Cabinet recently gifted with a full scholarship to the Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts in Jamaica paid a visit to Health Minister, the Honourable Molwyn Joseph earlier this week.
Ms. Gasper’s visit was to express her appreciation to the Minister and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda for the assistance given to her over the years.
Minister Joseph was instrumental in having Ms. Gasper flown first to Guadeloupe and then to Paris, France, to undergo special treatment for severe burns she received after an incident in 2016.
The Government covered Ms. Gasper’s medical expenses at that time and has once again come to her aid, this time, in the form of a scholarship, with which she will be pursuing a degree in Visual and Performing Arts.
According to Ms. Gasper, theatre arts has assisted her greatly with regards to coping and expressing her inner emotions because she is able to channel the feelings she was hiding in a positive way.
Minister Joseph congratulated Ms. Gasper on entering a new phase in her life while noting that God has a special purpose for her. He indicated that although she has been through one of the greatest human tragedies imaginable, she has risen above it all.
He commended Ms. Gasper on her ability to overcome the obstacles that may have been stumbling blocks in her way and indicated that her adversity will only strengthen and prepare her for greater things.
Minister Joseph wished her well on her journey as she makes this bold step in pursuing her dreams in Performing Arts.

I wish you the very best young lady. Your resilience even at such a tender age is worthy of emulation, especially by the nation’s youth. When older folks charged with the responsibility of caring, protecting, nurturing and educating our young FAIL and seek instead to DESTROY them, Ms. GASPAR’s floodlights should beam as a reminder of the virtues of patience, determination and yes, even forgiveness. God bless you, my child.

And we thank you as well Ms. Gasper for epitomizing bravery and resilience. May the blessings continue to flow.
Get your arm from around the child. There is something called social distancing. Show some example. We will still SEE you in the picture. We all know that is what you are really there for. Never seen a man who loves to see his jet black hair and shiny implants in the media like you.
