Several Islands Declares Tropical Storm Warning for TS Dorian

Based on a report issued by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), several leewards islands have now placed their nation on Tropical Storm Warning.The islands include Barbados, Saint Lucia and St. Vincent and the grenadines.

Additionally, Grenada has declared a Tropical Storm Watch for their country.

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.
A Tropical Storm Watch means that tropical storm conditions are possible within the watch area, generally within 48 hours.

According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, Florida, as of 5:00 PM (AST)
on August 25, 2019, the center of Tropical Storm Dorian was located near latitude 11.5
North, longitude 54.2 West. Dorian is moving toward the west near 14 mph (22 km/h).
The estimated minimum central pressure 1003 mb.

Maximum sustained winds are 50 mph (85 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening
is forecast during the next 48 hours.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the centre.

Dorian is expected to affect the Southern Windward and Northern Leeward islands with storm force winds and heavy rainfall expected over these areas. The remainder of the island chain may get caught in surrounding feeder bands resulting in periods of intense rainfall and gusty winds.
