Senator Dwayne George Pays Tribute to Mothers Across Antigua and Barbuda

St. Mary’s South, Antigua and Barbuda – Senator Dwayne George has paid tribute to the mothers of St. Mary’s South and the wider nation in a heartfelt message marking Mother’s Day, describing them as the “visionaries of a better future” and the “fabric of our communities.”

In a statement shared on Sunday, George extended his appreciation to all who take on mothering roles—whether by birth, adoption, fostering, mentorship, or simple acts of care.

“Today we celebrate YOU,” he declared. “To the mothers who rise before dawn to prepare meals, who work tirelessly at home and in the workplace, who persevere in patience to keep our children on the right track… your dedication does not go unnoticed.”

The Senator, who also serves as the ABLP candidate for St. Mary’s South, emphasised the role of mothers in preserving culture, teaching tradition, and shaping the next generation.

“In St. Mary’s South, and across our twin-island nation, mothers are absolutely critical to our collective resilience and progress,” George said. “Your sacrifices create ripples that extend far beyond what you may see.”

He also acknowledged those facing loss on this day—whether mourning mothers or children who have passed—and expressed his commitment to pursuing policies that benefit families across the country.

“Your well-being is central to our collective prosperity,” he stated, pledging continued advocacy for support systems aimed at uplifting mothers and strengthening family life.

The message concluded with a call to honour mothers not only on Mother’s Day, but throughout the year. “You deserve not just today’s celebration, but our year-round respect and support,” George affirmed.
