The armed robbery of a DeSouza Road woman – a security guard – is being investigated by the Police.
Reports are that the woman was on duty at the old Antigua Public Utilities Authority building on Long Street when the robbery occurred.
Further reports say that she was outside, sitting on a chair, when an unknown man, dressed entirely in black, approached her; pointed a gun at her; and demanded that she hand over her cell phone.
He reportedly took the phone, as well as her black work bag, which contained $230, and her Social Security, Voter ID, and Medical Benefits cards.
The man then fled the scene in an easterly direction.
The robber is described as being about 5’ 5” tall and having an Antiguan accent.
Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department are conducting inquiries into the matter, which reportedly occurred at about 9 p.m. on December 17.
