Sections of Sir Sydney Walling Highway to remain closed

The traffic management plan for ongoing works under the second Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project on Sir Sydney Walling Highway for the Period 11th January 2021 to 23rd January 2021 will result in sections of the road remaining closed while the traffic will be diverted in an effort to ensure safety.

The traffic management plan include but is not limited to:

 

The public is urged to be mindful of the ongoing road closure with diversion of traffic from the North Sound Roundabout to Parham Corner with local access only. This will facilitate the completion of base work in preparation to begin asphalt works along the selected section.

 

There is also an ongoing road closure with diversion from North Sound Roundabout to Parham corner with culvert works from Monday 18th January 2021 with controlled access for Local Traffic. Residents in the vicinity well receive formal notification.

 

Elsewhere, single lane traffic will be in place from Mount Joy Roundabout towards Pares Village with temporary traffic light controls in place both day and night. Meantime,  Single Lane Traffic will be controlled by Flag Persons during daylight hours only.

  1. while i welcome the new road we will get. it is important that the road team ensure that the diversion routes are safe. the road leading through parham to the stadium is riddled with potholes. between the potholes, the darkness at nights and the donkeys, i hope we will not wait for a serious accident before we address the potholes.
