With one more day to go, it is expected that over two thousand residents would have received glasses or sunshades when the inaugural Ministry of Health, Sandals and Great Shape Inc eye-care initiative climaxes on Friday.
After four days of the venture, close to sixteen hundred persons were examined by eye-care professionals at the Grace Christian Academy on Roan Henry Street in Gambles.
A team of twenty six individuals from Canada and the USA, led by I-Care Director Dr Steven Stern, have been examining individuals for signs of glaucoma, Pterygium and other diseases of the eye and then outfitting them with sunglasses, reading glasses and other prescribed eye-wear.
The week long program is expected to close off at 1pm on August 30th.
