If these reports are true, Samantha Marshall has done the right thing.
She was ridiculed mercilessly, and put in an UNTENABLE position, due to the prior INAPPROPRIATE legal action by the ABLP party and Prime Minister Gaston ‘Litigious’ Browne.
What the ABLP failed to understand, is that they totally misread the situation and the out and out anger of the constituents of St Mary’s South, who had rightfully elected the Honourable Kelvin Shuggy Simon.
And now (if the rumours are true) the government now want to put up a – trojan horse – candidate to take Samantha Marshall’s place. Absolutely farcical!

One thing about Audley Philip. He seems to have selective memory. Does Audley forget that Dr. Errol Cort who was a Minister in the ALP and trusted confident of the Honorable Lester Bird, jumped ship after being implicated in the Medical Benefit inquiry. Then he was embraced by the UPP accepted with open arm and put to run on their slate against his former mentor Lester Brian Bird. Which, by the way, he won. And that was only because he was familiar with the politics of Lester. And note that it was the UPP who forced the then ALP government for a public inquiry into the very same MBS which implicated Dr. Cort. And their slogan was that ALP members were corrupt and UPP will stamp out corruption.
So, Audley, I hope I have refreshed your memory that it’s not just ABLP is smart in taking people who jump ship, but the UPP does that as well. That is politics. A man having a change of heart as Smarty Jr. sang some years ago.

In every political party, the leader calls the shot. So, believe your bottom dollar that the PM had something to do with it. Or he would not be a leader, but a follower. When the UPP embraced Dr. Cort who had fallen from grace with Lester, I thought they were stupid. The man was a loser. But when the shock came on election day I was shocked also. Perhaps this is something similar. We will see.
